Nicole Kennelly, MA

Professional Counselor Associate serving Individuals, Couples (Married & Premarital) & Families

It's disorienting when your reactions don't match the moment. And, it can feel overwhelming when you are caught in a loop. If you're feeling trapped in patterns, whether due to anxiety, neurodivergence, burnout, religious trauma, codependency, or addiction—or simply feeling alone and lost—know that you do not need to weather those challenges alone.

I am passionate about helping you create a meaningful and fulfilling life, as you learn to move from cycles of pain to cycles of peace. I take an eclectic approach, tailored to your goals and needs, to create a plan that makes sense. For individuals, we will get into the nitty-gritty of what is driving the behavior you'd like to change—for relationships, helping those same arguments find a different ending.

I will offer you a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings and provide the support you need to try new approaches. Together, we can work to weave those loose and frayed ends into something more cohesive and purposeful in your life.

Philosophy & Approach

I view our human experience through an existential lens that encourages you to engage with your own journey of "becoming" as you create a life worth living. Engaging with life is not always straightforward; it can often be frustrating. Patience and mindfulness are essential to discovering your authentic self. Incorporating mindfulness, emotional regulation, and attachment styles as essential to uncover behaviors and relational dynamics that you are no longer working.

While change can sometimes happen quickly, the process is ongoing. Nevertheless, we all have the potential to change and improve our relationships at every stage of life. Any progress toward a life you find meaningful, no matter how small, is valuable. When you identify the areas where you have choices, energy and creativity will begin to emerge.

As a relationship therapist, I believe that our personal changes create a ripple effect on those around us. However, there are limitations posed by our circumstances and the systems we live within. Each of us has unique resources to discover and vulnerabilities to acknowledge, both individually and systemically. One of the most admirable aspects of being human is our desire to improve for ourselves and for the people we love.

In therapy, I welcome all ways that bring change and connection, including but not limited to Restoration Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Theory, incorporating techniques of self-compassion, somatic regulation, art therapy, and spiritual integration.
